Chandler, AZ (October 23, 2017) – Jerett Brooks entered the final round of racing in the 2017 Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series with a 19-point gap in the points championship. After qualifying 3rd compared to a 1st place qualifying run by Brock Heger, the gap shrunk to 18. Without thinking too much about points racing and instead focusing on running a smooth race, like it’s any other race, Jerett knew that in Pro Lite, anything is possible.
Starting on the 2nd row, Jerett would find himself in third position for the first half of the race. But as the leaders shuffled and positions changed, he felt pressure from behind and did his best to hold his spot. Brock Heger would eventually find himself in the lead and Jerett was able to hold off the challengers behind to finish the season with a 3rd place finish, his 11th podium of the season, capping off his 2nd Pro Lite Championship in a row, and his 3rd title in 4 years.
“I just can’t believe what this team has accomplished. Going back to back is an amazing feeling and I just can’t thank my team and my sponsors enough for their incredible support this year. We can’t wait to go for that Pro 2 championship in 2018,” Jerett said after the race.
Jerett Brooks Racing would like to thank all of their sponsors for their support – General Tire , Rigid Industries , Bilstein Shocks , KMC Wheels , Maxima Racing Oils , Optima Batteries , FK Rod Ends , K2 Coolers , Black Rhino Performance , Magnaflow Exhaust , Factory Canopies , Fortin Racing , Casper’s Concrete Busters , Eibach Springs , Howe Performance , Kroyer Racing Engines , Jones Racing Performance , Camburg , NoGrady Racing Engines , Adidas Motorsport , Buggy Whips , and Impact Safety .
