Las Vegas, NV (November 7, 2016) – SEMA 2016 was one for the ages. For industry leading brands, it’s a place to debut the most anticipated new products for 2017. For the media, it’s capturing the latest and greatest in new products, vehicle accessories, or ground-breaking technology. For race car drivers, truck racers, and industry ambassadors alike it’s spending time with sponsors, meeting fans, and pounding the pavement to find new partners for next years racing season.

Jerett Brooks had a busy week himself. While meeting with current sponsors, finding potential new sponsors, and taking the time to learn about the newest industry trends and technology to help find that extra speed in 2017, he also spent some time with one of his most important sponsors and supporters from the 2016 season, Bilstein Shocks.

On Wednesday, November 2nd, Jerett attended the Bilstein/Thyssenkrupp SEMA dinner alongside his parents, Ron and Shanna Brooks, Brett Carpenter (JBR Marketing Manager), and Nick Tenbruin (Pro Lite Prep/Mechanic). In attendance from Bilstein were Thorsten Schwippert (CEO – ThyssenKrupp Bilstein), Scott MacDonald (Director of Motorsports), Antonio Curioso (Head of Sales Aftermarket & Motorsports), Regis Finn (Marketing Manager), Doug Cimins (Off-Road – Motorsports) and members of Bistein/ThyssenKrupp’s US and German Engineering, Sales, and Marketing divisions. Upon Jerett’s arrival, Regis Finn, Marketing Manager and one of Jerett’s biggest supporters during his 2016 LOORRS Pro Lite Championship run, presented Jerett with the prestigious Bilstein Madonna Award, symbolic of Racing Excellence. Jerett was stunned, humbled, and completely overwhelmed with appreciation as he accepted the award from Regis, Scott, Antonio, and CEO, Thorsten Schwippert.

“I don’t even know what to say. This is an honor to be presented with this and be listed below the other winners of this award,” explained Jerett. “To be one of the only Pro Lite racers on these shocks and to accomplish what we have with the help of Doug and all the tuning he’s done for us, really shows what we’re capable of working with such a great company like Bilstein. I couldn’t be more excited to have this relationship and continue to grow with the Bilstein family!

The history of the Madonna Award dates back over 30 years. As Scott MacDonald explained, “the very first recipient of this award was Ivan Stewart. And just to give you an idea of how prestigious this award is, additional recipients include Dale Earnhardt Sr., Rusty Wallace, Alan Kulwicki, Darrell Waltrip, all past NASCAR champions, some who are no longer with us.” The Madonna is truly a fraternity of legends that have achieved and exceeded the criteria and accomplishments it takes to earn this honor.

The list of accomplishments in Jerett’s young career continues to grow. 2-time X Games competitor, 2014 TORC Pro Lite Champion, 2-time LOORRS Challenge Cup Winner, 2016 LOORRS Pro Lite Champion, Off-Road Motorsports Hall-of-Fame “Rising Star” honoree, and now a recipient of the Bilstein Madonna.

The future is bright for Jerett Brooks. But he knows that the goals he has set for himself are still a ways away and he’ll continue to work towards them day in and day out. He also knows that working with great companies like Bilstein will help position him to continue winning on and off the track and will help him leave the legacy that all of the other Madonna recipients have left throughout their racing journey.

About Bilstein: The name BILSTEIN has for many decades been closely associated with high tech in the field of suspension design, driving comfort and safety. In order to expand this position in the future, BILSTEIN became a division of ThyssenKrupp Technologies AG in 1988, and a wholly-owned subsidiary in 2005. The partnership and co-operation within the group will enable the company to continue to inspire with innovations in the traditional BILSTEIN way.
